You Don’t Like WHAT?
By Ross
I'm not sure if it's traveling in tight quarters or just the sheer amount of time spent together, but Robin and I might be discovering as much about each other as we are discovering about our country. Just the other day, Robin told me she doesn't like broccoli. Holy moly, SAY WHAT! In our 25 years of marriage we've eaten enough broccoli to feed a small nation. We've eaten it raw, sautéed, roasted, steamed, and every other way it can be prepared. And only now I'm finding out she thinks these fabulous florets are foul?
So in an attempt to avoid further surprises I asked Robin what other foods she doesn't like, and I opened up my iPhone to start keeping a list, and here it is (so far):
Kale
Liver
Cauliflower
Broccoli
Soy pancakes
Fish
Cardamon
Dried fruit, especially raisins
White chocolate
Bran muffins
Fruitcake
I already knew about the liver, cardamon, and fruitcake but all the others were a bit of a surprise, especially since kale is a main ingredient in our daily smoothies and we eat quite a bit of fish. So do yourself a favor and avoid getting a funny look when you get your loved one a white chocolate heart for Valentine's Day, make a list.
