GDMBR Day 25

  • Start: Luders Creek Campground, Rio Grande National Forest

  • Finish: Tomichi Creek Trading Post, Sargents, CO

  • Miles: 48.5 miles

  • Odometer: 946 miles

  • Ascent: 1,500 ft

  • Descent: 3,000 ft

  • Location: https://share.garmin.com/Judice

Highlights:

Today was all about the downhill. There’s nothing like a 10 mile descent. These are the rewards of yesterday’s climbing. I arrived at Tomichi Creek Trading Post in Sargents, CO in the early afternoon and checked into one of their bare-bones cabins and then went over to the restaurant and had a huge burger and a beer. Today was a pretty easy day.

Lowlights:

The last 10 or 12 miles into Sergents was on Highway 50. The Memorial Day weekend traffic was horrendous. Most people veer closer to the center line when passing bicyclists but there’s always one ass out of every 10 who brush close by. Don’t be that ass.
