Highlights
- Today was mostly downhill trail. That’s nice after two 20-mile days.
- I awoke in a meadow sitting in the shadow of South Sister with the sun coming up behind the mountain.
- When I arrived at Elk Lake Resort (a pretty familiar day outing spot for us), I ordered a Boneyard RPM IPA (a pretty familiar and favorite beer) and a plate of shredded pork nachos that tasted so good after two and half days of trail food.
- Robin and Mr. Spock arrived to pick me up and the smile across my face would spread across the Three Sisters Wilderness.
- It feels like an accomplishment to walk 50 miles through a beautiful place. It does a soul good.
