Highlights:

Continuing my visit with my friend Steve this morning got me off to a late start on the bicycle. If you are into cycling, this is the place to be. I rode for almost 10 miles around the Dillon reservoir, through Silverthorne, and north along the Blue River all on dedicated walking/bike paths. It was fantastic. Those communities really value recreation and cycling, and on this particular Saturday morning folks were out enjoying them. 

As I am headed up Ute Pass I was stopped by a local cyclist who shares that he has twice attempted the Tour Divide Race. Unfortunately had to pull out both times due to injury. We visited for quite a while and swap stories. 

The highlight of the day was the outstanding weather. There was virtually no wind. I arrived in Kremmling, CO and checked in to the 115-year-old downtown hotel. The proprietors were colorful. The rooms were decorated in interesting themes, including one room completely dedicated to folk singer John Denver. 

I really had not eaten much all day. The hotel owner directed me to The Grand Restaurant next door where I had the most delicious prime rib special, loaded baked potato, salad, peach pie à la mode with whip cream, and a beer. I needed the protein.

Today was outstanding.
